Some of the lines were custom-built and lacked CE marking, while others had undergone revamping over time, involving the addition and replacement of components that altered the machines\u2019 performance. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Such interventions require new CE marking of the line as per machinery directive and pertinent current standards and regulations<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The need for measures to <strong>improve security<\/strong>, combined with <strong>regulatory and legislative gaps<\/strong>, exposed the company to risks that could jeopardize its business continuity.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The process lasted 6 months with the active involvement of <strong>Perimetra\u2019s CMSE\u00ae-certified (Certified Machinery Safety Expert) <\/strong> <strong>technicians<\/strong> <strong>, who <\/strong>took into account all the steps necessary for the project\u2019s execution.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 ) Perimetra risk assessment <\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The extrusion lines were observed in operation, with particular attention paid to <strong>the mechanical movements<\/strong> involved, the <strong>downtime<\/strong>, and the <strong>tasks performed by the machine operator<\/strong>, identifying and analyzing the risks based on the guidelines contained in the<strong> UNI EN ISO 12100<\/strong> standard<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several nonconformities were identified, and all the necessary actions to <strong>improve safety<\/strong> were therefore specified, in accordance with the latest <strong>technical standards<\/strong>, in order to comply with the relevant <strong>R.E.S.S.<\/strong>(Essential Health and Safety Requirements) of <strong>the Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) Perimetra Safety Design<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since these were <strong>on-site repairs<\/strong>, our technician specializing in <strong>aluminum products<\/strong> designed and built the necessary protective measures to <strong>mitigate the risks involved<\/strong> after conducting a thorough <strong>on-site<\/strong> inspection.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter Remediation<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safety upgrades, including <strong>the installation of protective guards on the machine<\/strong>, <strong>safety sensors<\/strong>, <strong>the development of safety logic<\/strong>, and <strong>staff training<\/strong> on safety procedures\u2014such as stopping the cutter when the guard is opened.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) Perimetra CE marking process<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perimetra drafted all the <strong>operating and maintenance manuals<\/strong> for the five extrusion lines and provided support in <strong>compiling the technical documentation<\/strong> in accordance with legal requirements, including the drafting of a model <strong>EC Declaration of Conformity and the corresponding EC
