The standard specifies the criteria for assessing whether whole body access is present in machinery and a methodology for determining the requirements needed to reduce the associated risks. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a55e60b e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"a55e60b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b064ba7 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"b064ba7\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0c8f29c elementor-widget-tablet__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0c8f29c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Correct distances. Operator not detected. The problem exists.  <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8327090 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8327090\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A machine complies with the <strong>Safety Distances <\/strong>required by <strong>EN ISO 13855<\/strong>. <br\/>The protective devices are correctly positioned. Yet an operator manages to access the hazard zone without being detected, or to remain in it without the system detecting their presence. <\/p><p>This is the problem that EN ISO 12895 (currently in final approval as ISO\/FDIS 12895) addresses. Both assume that protection works as expected: the operator approaches, the system detects, the machine stops. They do not deal with the case in which the operator enters the hazard zone with the whole body, or remains in it, or is not detected at all. <\/p><p>The question that remains unanswered in the previous standards is: <em>\u00abWhat happens when the Safety Distance alone is not sufficient to prevent complete access to the hazardzone?\u00bb<\/em><\/p><p>EN ISO 12895 positions itself precisely in this space. The focus shifts to the real geometry of the installation and the effective capacity of the system to <strong>prevent undetected human presence<\/strong>. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-11655c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"11655c0\" aspects of the standard is its complementary nature with respect to the separation standards.<\/p><p>If <strong>EN ISO 13855<\/strong> defines how to position the protective devices and <strong>EN ISO 13857<\/strong> how to position the guards, <strong>EN ISO12895<\/strong> answers the next question: what happens when, despite correct distances, access is still possible?<\/p><p>The standard
