Before CE marking and placing on the market or putting into service, it is necessary to verify that the machinery meets all applicable requirements. This assessment evaluates the conformity of the machinery against the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, the relevant harmonised standards in force, and the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, which will become applicable in 2027. The assessment can be carried out on new machinery as well as on existing machines that have undergone substantial modifications, or where multiple machines are integrated into a production line.
