Siemens has chosen Access for the protection of a production line employed in the packaging of cosmetics in the industrial area of Karlsruhe.
Siemens has chosen Accessafe to secure a facility dedicated to the packaging of cosmetics in the Karlsruhe industrial area, built on a 37,000-square-meter site and capable of handling up to 12,000 packages per shift.
The extraordinary speed of installation of the patented Meta 1 systems made it possible to complete the project in the month of August alone, thanks in part to the new kits designed for adaptation to special surfaces, ensuring an effective aesthetic result in compliance with the European Machinery Directive 42/2006 and the C-type standard EN 528/2008 “Safety Requirements for Forklifts.”
The security access points have been equipped with kits featuring mechanical locks with different key codes, complete with a rapid evacuation system, an access control sensor, and a universal master key provided to the fire department.
The layout includes a manually operated door with an assisted-opening mechanism, designed entirely to order in accordance with the unique quality standards of Accessafe’s custom manufacturing.

To cordon off the area, we used Penta-line perimeter barriers with the patented Meta 1 support featuring a DBS welded base, access systems with single- and double-leaf doors, and custom-made special manually operated guillotine doors.
Below is our customer’s comment:
“Accessafe has been a reliable supplier to Siemens for several years now, and our relationship has grown stronger over time.
Our decision to use Accessafe safety grids for our automated handling and warehousing system was based on several factors that are also common to other safety integration projects for our facilities.”
- Finalization of the installation layout for the protective devices (3D drawing, details of custom components) as part of our design phase;
- Ability to define custom elements;
- Ease of assembly and installation (quick installation);
- Proper integration with our “Siemens safety and access control sensors.”
